Date palm which is also known as Khajoor is a flowering plant cultivated for the edible fruit of the same name (Dates)  and belongs to palm family Arecaceae. As it was first cultivated long ago, so it’s original place of origin is not known but it is believed to be originated from the lands around Iraq but is now cultivated in many tropical and subtropical regions of the world.
