Consuming tomatoes on a regular basis and as well as their topical application has been found to be very effective in treating acne.

For using tomatoes for acne treatment, mash a ripe tomato and evenly spread the pulp so obtained on your affected skin area. According to a 2001 study published in the Journal of Nutrition, it was found that consuming tomatoes on a regular basis also provide protection against the ultra-violet light induced erythema.
